As Co-Founder, Managing Partner at Strand Equity, Seth leads Strand’s overall strategy, deal sourcing and portfolio management. Seth has over 15 years of experience and success as an entrepreneur, executive and investor. His diverse background gives him a unique understanding into the different viewpoints of both entrepreneurs and investors.

In 2005, after becoming one of the youngest agents at CAA, the world’s leading entertainment and sports agency, Seth helped launch and grow Tao Group and Strategic Marketing Group as its Managing Partner. Seth helped build Tao Group into one of the world’s most well renowned restaurant and nightlife groups, which culminated in a sale to The Madison Square Garden Company in February 2017. He also built Strategic Marketing Group into one of the preeminent experiential marketing firms in the industry.

Seth has become known as one of the most innovative and value-add investors in the branded consumer space. He has helped disrupt the traditional endorsement relationship between the entertainment community and consumer growth brands by creating, investing and executing some of the most exciting and creative marketing partnerships and platforms in the category for Strand portfolio companies such as Bai, HIPPEAS, Vita Coco, Sweaty Betty, Popchips and RightRice.

Seth has also founded and created innovative consumer and media companies. In 2014, along with co-founder Reese Witherspoon, he launched Draper James, a Southern inspired retail brand focused on fashion, accessories and home decor. Draper James is currently backed by Forerunner Ventures, Stone Canyon Industries and JH Partners. In 2016, along with partners AT&T, Peter Chernin and Reese Witherspoon, Seth founded Hello Sunshine, a modern media company devoted to telling female driven stories across all platforms – from film and TV to daily social and short-form digital content. Hello Sunshine is currently backed by Otter Media / AT&T and Laurene Powell Jobs’ Emerson Collective.
